The Opportunity
We are seeking a talented Management Accountant to step into a key leadership role, reporting directly to the General Manager.
The Management Accountant will play a crucial role in financial oversight, compliance, and operational support while also managing HR responsibilities. The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial & Accounts Management:
- Lead and manage two staff members handling bookkeeping and data entry.
- Oversee payroll processing, timesheet verification, and superannuation compliance.
- Manage accounts receivable (AR) and accounts payable (AP) functions, including invoice approvals and queries.
- Cash flow management – primary responsibility.
- Ensure end-of-month reconciliations and financial compliance.
- Manage credit applications, price lists, and capital procurement.
- Contracts & Compliance:
- Review, submit, and negotiate contracts.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
- IT & Systems Management:
- Oversee MYOB and manage financial reporting.
- Provide onsite IT support, liaising with an external IT consultant.
- Service & Operations Support:
- Manage service parts procurement and fleet management.
- Provide operational backup and support online systems and processes.
- HR Leadership:
- Conduct interviews, onboarding, performance management, and HR administration.
- Act as Return to Work (RTW) Coordinator for WorkCover.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
This role is suited to confident, positive and highly organised Management Accountant with a strong construction industry background. The ideal candidate will have:
- Accounting Qualifications (CA or CPA preferred).
- Proven experience in management accounting, including cash flow management and financial reporting.
- Experience in the construction sector or heavy industry hire.
- Thorough knowledge to CFMEU EBA payments and requirements.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- A team-oriented, proactive, and positive approach.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
