About The Role

As a Media and Communications Specialist, you will work alongside a passionate and supportive team, playing a key role in creating compelling content and driving innovative communication strategies. Your work will span across earned media, thought leadership, stakeholder communications, and digital channels, all in close partnership with cross-functional teams.
In this role, you’ll help elevate the profile of the organisation and the people by collaborating with the broader business to promote the firm’s brand, vision, values, and the stories of their clients and team members.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage proactive and reactive media relations across local, state, and national platforms for the Firm’s practice groups.
  • Identify opportunities and create engaging content for internal and external communications, aligned with the Firm’s strategic goals.
  • Leverage emerging media tools and platforms to enhance communication efforts and extend our reach.
  • Develop creative, engaging content for various platforms including social media, websites, blogs, and newsletters.
  • Design and implement innovative communication strategies that effectively communicate the company’s brand, vision, and values both internally and externally.
  • Conceptualize and execute creative campaigns that engage the Firm’s audiences and drive positive outcomes.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure consistency and cohesion in messaging across all channels.

About you

To succeed in this role, you’ll bring a combination of the following skills and experience:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in media and communications, with a strong portfolio showcasing your content creation abilities.
  • Proficiency in utilizing new media tools and platforms to enhance communication.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail.
  • A creative mindset and the ability to generate fresh, innovative ideas.
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
  • The ability to simplify and communicate complex issues clearly.
  • Collaborative and proactive approach to working with teams.
  • Experience in media relations and managing press coverage.
  • Strong analytical skills to evaluate data and derive actionable insights.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with empathy and understanding.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
  • A strong attention to detail and risk management abilities.
  • Capability to work effectively with colleagues at all levels within the organization.
